Not Jesus' Death - His Overcoming Of Death

Please read the cover copy.
For author info, see below and also click on button on Home Page.Biblical phase one, phase two, phase three. Jesus allowed himself to be overcome (voluntarily, by evil from the world, not evil from a harsh God). He bled in battle on our behalf, overcame (at-one with his all-good God) the world, broke our "prison" (Isa. 42:7; 61:1, Lk. 4:18). Third, he expected us to do his works (Jn. 14:12 and see other citations on the cover above) (but not what he did "once for all"), we also working at-one (Jn. 17:20-23) with his all-good God who healed (didn't harm) sinners.

Jesus "abolished" death (I I Tim. 1:10) and its system (harsh God and death-sacrifice to square things, but not the death of sinners, instead the death of a scapegoat). Jesus abolished death and its system first, freeing and leading us, and saving us from the world's (not God's) evils. We can't do those things first, but have to do "last" (I Cor. 15:26) all the rest (in conjunction with Jesus' all-good God). So there it is, we must do our part in clearing the earth of evil, as he said  (Jn. 14:12, Mat. 10:7-8; Mk. 16:17-18; Acts 1:8; Rev. 2:7; 11, 17, 26: 3:5, 12, 21; 21:4, 7, KJV). But how?

How? The answer begins with Jesus' all-good God, and that Jesus wasn't a victim, but the Victor over death (all of which came from the world, which he overcame - - John 16:33).

Some say he was Victor over death that had come from God, and that by dying, he got rid of God's death-threats to humanity. But instead he and God - - in whom is no death - - illustrated victory over death coming from the world (the "carnal mind" Rom. 8:6-7). He said the world hated him and his disciples (including followers) (Jn. 15:18-19).

Forgiveness and pardon, but not cleansing
Old theology offers forgiveness and pardon, but doesn't cleanse us. Jesus' God indeed forgives and pardons, but if we want to progress, we get a thorough scrubbing, cleansing and changing - - things which (along with empowerment to do Jesus' works) are not part of the old.

Following Jesus, we progressively put on the higher spiritual identity in God's (Spirit's - - Jn. 4:24) image, "hid" with Christ in God (Col. 3:3)  which Jesus presented, while harmlessly putting off the "old" or Adamic carnal (material) mind man and identity, with all its problems and death (I Cor. 15:22).

The upcoming great Age of Overcoming
Theology will change. And thus open the great Age of Overcoming.

Two opposite laws
Death comes from the carnal mind (Rom. 8:6-8), which is the devil mind or "enmity against God." It is not like God's law (v. 8), and is not from God, who overcomes death, raises the dead.

Jesus broke the entire primitive "law of sin followed by death from God" system - - all of which is in our mind or the earthly mind, not in God or the "mind that was in Christ Jesus" - - with what Paul referred to as "the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:2).

These are two different laws, two different systems - - and they are opposites. Jesus "taketh away the first, that he may establish the second" (Heb. 10:9).

He made possible our way out, not by his death but his overcoming of the world's death and death-system, by "a new and living way" (Heb. 10:20) - - not by the old, but "by a new" way, and not by a death way, but "by…[a] living way."

Jesus would not have had to undergo the Cross were it not for the sins of sinful material humans, which made them incapable of getting out of their "prison" without divine help. In that sense he took the world's sins upon himself.

The popular interpretation of the Cross
The popular interpretation of the Cross and Resurrection builds in death (and death from God - - an impossibility), and does not provide for Jesus' followers to do his works as he instructed, which include raising the dead, leading to the end of all death and evil (Rev. 21:4, 7).

The popular interpretation (which is by Anselm ca. 1100), needs replacement in order to open the way for power-Christianity and the upcoming Judeo-Christian Age of Overcoming.

Bible power, not death, belongs at the center of our religions.

What Came Forth at Asusa Street?

Jesus' Actual Church - - Founded By Him In
His Time - - Resurrected At Azusa Street, Accompanied
By An Enormous Wave Of Biblical Pentecost (Modern
Early Christianity) Which Had Fully Appeared
In Decades Earlier

Please read the cover copy.
For author info, see below and also click on button on Home Page.

The Bonnie Brae Street - Azusa Street phenomenon which extended worldwide is detailed from hundreds of published sources, plus hundreds of interviews and testimonies from the author's 70,000 miles of knapsacking the world. And the continuing world explosion - - in the same pattern as the 1906-1911 reappearance - - has followers in varying degrees of the modern Early Christianity totaling more than a half-billion. (For numbers, see James Rutz' Megashift, Vinson Synan's Century of the Holy Spirit, including David Barrett's updated detailed statistics), and also pp. 99-110 of this book, with commentary.

The extraordinariness of Azusa comes from the fact of the resurrected Church - - not a church in the typical sense, but very definitely an entity, and one to be reckoned with. A massive Pentecostal wave was attached, but Pentecost or the restored and modern Early Christianity - - which had been around for decades - - was secondary in this case to the reappearance of the Church entity itself. (Some today still believe Azusa brought Pentecost - - as I heard stated by a large Christian organization on national TV even in 2008. Many more believe Pentecost first appeared at Topeka in 2001. However, every aspect of it had appeared many times over, and on a continuous basis, for many decades previous. See this book for details.)

All of this is carefully detailed.

Fulfilling the unfulfilled early ordainments
In the Early Christian times, Jesus' Acts 1:8 ordainments were only partially fulfilled.

Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost
is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me
both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria,
and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8).
Followers bore witness (power-Christianity) locally and regionally, but not "unto the uttermost part of the earth." (The "world" at that time was essentially the greater Mediterranean area, which certainly received the Word, and later the "world" was the partly Christianized Roman Empire, again covering essentially the greater Mediterranean area.)

From Azusa Street, immediately - - as if by long pent-up force - - the interrupted and unfulfilled Acts 1:8 ordainments waiting to go worldwide, sprang forth and spread unto a goodly portion of "the uttermost part of the earth." This is still expanding, and at a great rate.

Adherents today are in independents, also in their own denominations, and inside most traditional Christian denominations including the Catholic.

The Spirit on all flesh direct today (Jn. 14:26; Joel 2:28; Acts 2: 16-17, a forerunner of the modern era's actual "last days")
The Spirit is "on all flesh" today, direct, accounting for the rapid spread and also for the many "signs following." These works are mainly by ordinary people from the pews - - average followers far exceeding the limits of major denominations and their doctrines, priesthoods and ministerial ranks of only a short 50 years ago (many of whom have dropped hierarchy and adopted the equalitarian modern Early Christianity - - finding abundant "signs following").

But of course, Jesus said believers would do his works (Jn. 14:12, see also Mat. 10:7-8; Mk. 16:17-18; Acts 1:8; Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 21:4, 7 – KJV).

Something new is among us

Something new is among us today, and it is Jesus' founded Church. It is direct, presenting a framework in which are astonishing works.

It is not the formal Catholic Church, which never embraced direct worship, opting for many levels of priest classes. Intermedial levels, indirect worship, and worship of a sense of an absent God, filter or eliminate divine healing and other benefits which flourish where there is direct worship of the present God.

The formal Catholic Church was later retrofitted back over Jesus' Church, obscuring it and its first stage, Early Christianity. But today, Jesus' Church has reappeared, and will grow in definition on earth, as followers grow into the upcoming great Christian Age of Overcoming, or Judeo-Christian Age of Overcoming, leading to the end of all evil on earth (Rev. 21:4, 7).

JOHN LAKE
—A MODERN EARLY POWER-CHRISTIANITY
OR PETER AND JOHN TYPE PENTECOSTAL MINISTER
One testimony, and his interesting comment about there
being a Bible Science.

John Lake—a prominent figure in the modern or restored Early Christianity in the U.S. before and after Azusa in 1906, started the big Apostolic Faith Mission denomination in South Africa, later opened his Healing Rooms in Spokane, Washington in 1914 (Gordon Lindsay, John G. Lake, Apostle To Africa; and Roberts Liardon, John G. Lake, The Complete Collection Of His Life's Teachings). With his assistants, more than 100,000 were healed, and civil authorities said they had the nation's healthiest city—with the good will of the doctors over an approximate five-year period 1914-1919.

Gordon Lindsay's book (above), also Gloria Copeland's John G. Lake (p. 323) give us the testimony below and its interesting final comments. (I first reprinted this Lindsay account in my book, The Search For Jesus, in 1982.)

The Risdon family stand holding their six-year-old son.... This boy was born with a closed head. In consequence, as he increased in years, the skull was forced upward like the roof of a house, the forehead and the back of the head also being forced out in a similar manner, giving the head the appearance of the hull of a yacht upside down. The prsure on the brain caused the right side to become paralyzed, and the child was dumb. ... Under Divine Healing ministration in answer to prayer the bones softened, the head expanded, the skull was reduced to its normal size, the paralysis disappeared, the dumbness was gone. He spoke like other children and afterwards attended...public school.

Remarks by Rev. Lake: "I want you to see that in the Spirit of God there is a science far beyond physical or psychological science and the man or woman who enters into the spirit relation with God and exercises His power is most scientific."

I think Lake encountered the same thing many Bible figures encountered and used without thinking it was odd or different.

One source said he had offices, hours and appointments, and charged like doctors.

Is There A Little-Known Bible Super-Science?

We Grasp Little Of What Some Ancients
Apparently Knew, Yet Jesus Said We Should
"Heal The Sick, Cleanse The Lepers,
Raise The Dead, Cast Out Devils"

Is there a Bible super-science above physical sciences? Don't remarkable Bible events show us something is there?

Didn't Jesus say believers would do his works (Jn. 14:12, see also Mat. 10:7-8; Mk. 16:17-18; Acts 1:8; Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 21:4,7)? And doesn't this mean there has to be knowledge of how to do our part?

Didn't Jesus say we had to see, hear, and understand in order to be healed (Mat. 13:15)—and presumably also to minister healings?

Did we get all of his message? In John 16:12, he said followers couldn't "bear" all his teachings at that time, but in John 14:26 he said the Holy Ghost would teach all that he had taught. This Holy Ghost, Spirit of truth or Comforter (Jn. 14:16-17, 26) is that Spirit promised "upon all flesh" in the "last days" (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:16-17).

Is there more in the Scriptures than is generally accepted and used?

Let's do some exploring.

Karl Roebling

Bible examples of spiritual power were higher than physical sciences—safety in the fiery furnace, the container of oil that didn't run dry, stilling the storm, and many other things we could use in today's world. Does power seen in the Scriptures and also in the many miracles worldwide today indicate an order, knowledge or science?

Are miracles just on a spot basis? Or do they come from an unchanging source always available at full strength? Jesus said believers would do his works (Jn. 14:12). Doesn't this point to a divine resource which we can unfailingly use?

A breadth of approaches and concepts is presented in this book as it broadly discusses the subject of Higher power and its use by humans historically and today.

A large Scripture index and hundreds of other sources are included.

The author's opinions appear along with those of others, and he shares some of his testimonies and experiences. But conclusions are left to the individual reader.

The Seven Seals of Revelation

The Seven Seals of Revelation

Karl Roebling has studied the Book of Revelation and Bible prophecies for more than fifty years. With more than 300 Bible verses from 29 books of the Bible, he lets Scripture speak for itself in the book The Seven Seals of Revelation.

A fresh explanation of Revelation, changing traditional concepts and showing the logical path through what has been the Bible's most difficult book to read and grasp. Nondenominational.

The Seven Seals of Revelation including the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have traditionally been thought to destroy the earth once they are opened. But the Seven Seals of Revelation which bind the book in the Apocalypse are Satan's grip on the knowledge we need to overcome all evil. Jesus breaks the seals as shown in the Bible's account of the Seven Seals of Revelation including the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are the first four seals. Evil raises hell, but the seven types of evil represented by the Seven Seals of Revelation including the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are destroyed by the time of Revelation 21:4,7 KJV.

Included in this book are biblical discussions of Armageddon, the Woman of Babylon and the Millennium. Armageddon is the big attack on Israel, which is not the end of the world. The woman of Babylon is the carnal mind or devil exposed and near its end. The Millennium is the thousand-year period after which there is still another battle with the devil-which most don't realize comes afterwards. But we can read of the Millennium, Woman of Babylon and Armageddon in the Bible. However, to see what the Bible says, we need to sidestep many popular extrapolations that have arisen from the terms Armageddon (many wild stories), Woman of Babylon, and Millennium.

Eschatology means "end-time" or end of the world sequences and events. Much Bible prophecy is eschatology. All "end of the world" commentary is eschatology. It's a tough word, so instead of "eschatology" people usually say, the "end-time" or "end of the world." In fact, the Bible doesn't predict the end of the world, only the end of evil, including the end of the type of world or worldliness that persecuted Jesus, and of which he said that he had overcome the "world."

Divine good intensely antagonizes evil, resulting in fury which seems to come from God. Instead, the angels present a purity so perfect that it extinguishes evil. The vials thus seem to contain horrors from God, but instead contain the divine perfection that brings up evil's last throes, thus seeming even to John to have come from God.

Examination of the entire text of Revelation, not extrapolation from a few verses, shows all evil is the devil, wiped out over time by the higher means the unsealed book reveals (not by God killing everything, for death is the carnal mind - Rom. 8:5-7 - and doesn't come from God). Death is the direct opposite of God, and God the direct opposite of death. By Rev. 21:4,7, all death and evil are finished, and Christians had a role in it (v.7).

The Search for the Promised Land

The New/Old Civilization of Seekers for the Spiritual Land Pursues Its Goal

"...recommended reading for all those with an interest in spirituality..." (Midwest Book Review)

"...well worth reading..." (Rapport)

The Search for the Promised Land

Karl Roebling has written several books with spiritual themes: Is There Healing Power? (David Cook); His Victory Over Death - Not His Death; The Seven Seals of Revelation; Pentecostals Around the World; and others. In his seventy years, he has often sought and encountered higher things, and experienced instances of spiritual healing, protection, supply, strength, and guidance.

The spiritual Promised Land or biblical Kingdom of God is what the Hebrews sought when they left Egypt. Israel was the biblical physical land, but the spiritual Promised Land or Kingdom of God remains the goal of all seekers in the continuing Exodus. Many immigrants to America wrote and spoke with high inspiration as if they were on a continuing Exodus coming to the spiritual Promised Land or Kingdom of God. Irving Berlin's great song said "Thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears." This was a vision of the spiritual Promised Land or Kingdom of God, maybe of the City Foursquare, but not a description of any human city on earth. Is America itself the goal of the continuing Exodus or search? No physical land can be the inspiration that leads the continuing Exodus, but the US Constitution, laws and general ideals are ordained, and especially helpful in the great search.

The Bible speaks of five ancient empires which will appear again in the end-time-Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome. Their physical empires are gone, but their special evils have continued-and will be part of evil's final fight in the end-time. Ancient Egypt represented oppression and the pyramidal system such as 666. Assyria represented war and expansion. Babylon represented mental evils and sciences, also war. Persia represented materialism and material resources. Greece initiated Western Culture, but also gave us gods and goddesses, the mythological hero-man (the opposite of Christ Jesus), and expansionist warfare somehow called, to this day, good. Rome represented world conquest. A seventh end-time empire is biblically prophesied as yet to come, adding to Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome redux. Oppression of the Jews was a characteristic of all six ancient empires-Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome-and we can assume it will be a characteristic of the yet-to-come seventh of the empires, said by interpreters to be a physical end-time super Roman Empire.

God told Abraham to "get thee out...unto a land that I will show thee." But was God directing the Patriarch to a material or spiritual land?

From Bible times to the present, seekers who encountered the spiritual kingdom in varying degrees found themselves changed, healed, protected, guided, supplied, strengthened, empowered. From evangelical to other views of the Kingdom of God, readers will find this of interest. Various views, both evangelical and others, are discussed.

Today millions are seeking and partially finding the higher realm which is the true Promised Land. They are changing and rising while much of the West secularizes.

The Bible predicts struggle between forces of good ushering in the divine kingdom, and forces holding the world in evil's grip - but the prophesied "end" is only the end of evil (as in Rev. 21:4).
